MOU Signing between DSP and Dungkar Estate
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between the Desuung Skilling Program (DSP) and Dungkar Estate, Pangbisa, Paro, solidifying a partnership to establish and operate Dungkar Café. Under this agreement, the café will be managed by Desuups trained in Barista skills and Culinary Arts, with ongoing support from DSP.
This initiative aligns with His Majesty’s vision of empowering Bhutanese youth by equipping them with practical skills that promote self-reliance and entrepreneurship. By providing trained Desuups with a platform to apply their expertise, this partnership not only generates employment but also fosters self-employment opportunities, creating a ripple effect in job creation within the community.
As part of this effort, Dungkar Estate also signed an agreement with Mr. Sonam Jamtsho, a DSP graduate, who will be responsible for managing Dungkar Café. This represents a significant step in translating the skilling program into real-world impact, reinforcing the commitment to sustainable livelihoods and professional growth.
Dungkar Café stands as a testament to the transformative power of skill development, demonstrating how structured training programs can lead to tangible economic opportunities. This collaboration is a step forward in realizing His Majesty’s vision of a skilled, self-reliant, and prosperous Bhutan.
