Salhang Tendrel ceremony for Jangchub Chorten and children’s playground

Dungkar Dzong, Bhutan – May 15, 2025 — A new initiative to enhance the spiritual and recreational environment of the campus is underway, with plans to construct a Jangchub Chorten and a children’s playground.

Following consultations with relevant stakeholders, a suitable site has been identified for the project. A small Salang Tendrel (groundbreaking and spiritual foundation ceremony) was held on Thursday, coinciding with His Majesty’s La Za, with Dasho Arun Kapur and the community members in attendance.

The addition of a Chorten is expected to provide a serene space for reflection and prayer, while the playground will offer a joyful and safe space for children on campus—balancing both spiritual and social dimensions of the community’s daily life.
